I love the themes of the album, very gripping. But on the other hand, some tracks just are not good, Youthful Body Expression, Thirteenth Floor Opening, and No End and Sight, which the whole album can not make up from. Get this CD, is its yes below , otherwise, you will find it second-rate to Tommorrow Hit Today, or My brother the Cow/5(19).

Piece Of Cake is a nice tight consistent album despite them going major label, but while the playing is typical Mudhoney the songwriting has vastly improved while the recording on this album is without a doubt benefiting the band. Mudhoney always had of the sense of the sixties about them, and on _Piece Of Cake_ that sound is even _more_ so.

Backing vocals on “Thirteenth Floor Opening”, “Take Me There”, “Living Wreck” and “Acetone” by Conrad Uno. Additional “coohe” on “Let Me Let You Down” by Emily Bishton. "Underide" and "Deception Pass" were recorded but left off the album, initially they appear as b-sides but later they got added to "Five Dollar Bob's.

Yes Mudhoney of course and in they released their major label debut named piece of cake. After a long history of humorous, catchy and fun albums they deliver their third album to a nation full of grungers, the genre they helped create but you might be surprised to know this isn’t a grunge album, its more garage rock or straightforward.
