    I found out about the Only Ones after reading a biography of NY Dolls guitarist Johnny Thunders. They ran in the same musical circles for a short while in the 's, and the Only Ones contributed some material as Johnny's backup band on his solo album So Alone, which is a stone cold classic. Anyway, this is the first Only Ones album I checked out/5(13).

    Better, in my opinion, than Even Serpents Shine which is the only other Only Ones thing I've heard. In fact three tracks from Serpents are on here but they're better, they have a raw feel as does the whole thing, which I like. As guitarist John perry says in the sleeve notes;.
