    Dec 27,  · I've got a clear vinyl pressing of some Leo Kottke guitar music. I don't know why, but it doesn't particularly impress with it's sound quality. I've got 30 year old Island LP's of the Chieftains that sound way better. And they are black. I know one thing, you can't tell if you got all the dust off a clear LP.

    Dec 30,  · Back in the '80's I was told that clear vinyl had superior sound quality. Don't know if that's really true or not. I still have two clear vinyl LP's - Talking Head's Stop Making Sense and a Yardbirds two LP comp. The TH album sounds awesome but the YB sounds like the off-name comp that it is.

The problem is that dust particles seem to be attracted to the vinyl like a magnet. I suggest you invest in a anti-static vinyl brush and use it before every session.
